What Can Be Expected From A Cedar Lawn Care Overseeding Job?
1. We will aerate all the lawn areas. This opens up the soil which helps with compaction. It allows fertilizer, sun, water, and grass seeds to get down into the soil effectively. We recommend this service yearly regardless of whether seed is being put down or not.
2. We spread a high quality blend of fescue & bluegrass seeds over the entire lawn area making sure to put plenty of seeds in the thin areas and along the edges where they are most needed.
3. We spread a layer of top soil or mulch over the lawn helping hold in moisture and helping the seed to have contact with the soil which is needed for the seed to grow well.
4. We blow off hard surfaces and clean up any mess we made.
After this service we highly recommend watering your lawn around 3 times per day for a few minutes each time to keep the soil damp but not soaking wet. This creates ideal conditions for the seeds to grow. If you're not comfortable setting your sprinkler timer to make sure this happens please let us know and we can have our sprinkler technician set it for you.
Best Time of Year For This Service: The best time to plant seed in and around St. George is October. The temperatures are cooler than mid Summer and grass is still growing allowing ideal growing conditions. At Cedar Lawn Care October is the only month we will do this service.
